The war is over, and mining companies are working for their net-zero emissions targets by 2050. Mining is responsible for 28% of global emissions (direct from operations, and all other indirect emissions). The coal mining industry has a long history of negative environmental impacts contributing heavily to climate change. Coke is a faceless grey, high carbon stone that none of us will miss for sure, but going net zero is also leaving our own coal workers unprotected as defeated soldiers of hated alien armies.

Social Change is indeed unpostponable, but change can't be rewarded by punishment, especially when it is driven by policymakers.
